REALTORS Hold Fund-Raiser
The Greater Binghamton Association of REALTORS sponsored a fund-raiser for a young lady in our community who has been diagnosed with leukemia. EXIT Realty was there to participate and capture the memories. Four year old "Princess" Destiny was the star of the show on Friday night, November 1st, at the Relief Pitcher in Conklin. The amount raised for her and her family to help offset medical costs is unknown at this time, but with a sold out Team Trivia event, many, many baskets and gift cards that were raffled off, as well as a 50/50, we know the family will be blessed!
The event featured an all-you-can-eat buffet,
trivia questions, a hilarious DJ, crossed fingers
hoping to win a basket donated by generous local
businesses, friends and fun. A very special
song was sung to Destiny by REALTOR, Rose
Pelino's, daughter. There wasn't a dry eye in the
house! Mickey and Minnie Mouse paid a visit and
joined in the fun on the Conga line and dancing
the Macarena! Community Service Committee chair,
Sandi Stebleton, played the part of the Faiary
Godmother. Everyone got into the spirit of things
by wearing tiaras, including the men!
Jim Rollo of State Farm Insurance donated his winnings in the 50/50 back to the family. Many more folks went home with delightful baskets of goodies, too.
Our local community of REALTORS holds a Team Trivia event every year to benefit someone who is in need because of death or serious illness. Last year's event was for the benefit of the family of Captain Matthew Porcari of the Owego fire department. Porcari lost his life while fighting a blaze in Newark Valley. The REALTOR community knows how to dig deep into their pockets and give back to the very people they serve.
