The biggest reason given by home sellers for attempting to sell their home on their own is to avoid paying an agent's commission. However, statistics have historically pointed out the fact that when a homeowner lists with an agent, they can expect to net more money.....even afterpaying a commission! This infographic, provided by the National Association of REALTORS®, shows the disparity in sold prices between sellers who list, sellers who don't and sellers who eventually do.
The bottom line is that sellers may sell their home once every 7 years or so. Why not trust the sale of your largest asset to someone who does it everyday?
