Governor Cuomo Announces New Appliance Rebate Program

In order to encourage New Yorkers to upgrade their appliances to those that are 'greener', the Governor announced a new Household Appliance Rebate Program.

The program is limited to high-efficiency refrigerators and washing machines with rebates of $350 and $250 respectively. The appliances must meet the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) super-efficiency levels (tiers 2 and 3).       You've thrown some paint on the walls, fixed the leaky faucet and maybe even had replacement windows installed. You know what your neighbor got for his house. And Zillow's "zestimate" told you how much your home is worth. Now all you need to do is plunk one of those red and white "FOR SALE BY OWNER" signs in the front and yard wait for the offers to come knocking on your front door. Right?

An agent in our office listed a recently flooded home and was himself flooded with seven offers for this $25,000 home. The problem was, the agent could not get hold of the seller despite his very best efforts.
Needless to say, the other agents assumed our agent was purposely putting them off, perhaps to wait until an offer from one of his own buyers came in. Irate calls came in to the agent and the broker.
